Pale sun was warm
But the breeze blew cold
Moving in slowly
Heavy and old
Wool blanket clouds
Covered the sky
Winter was coming
And Christmas was nigh
On day before the snow fell Said goodbye to the grass until spring Shovels and scarpers Stood at the ready Throws and comforters Spread on the bedding Waiting for the hills To be covered for sledding The day before, the day before The day before the snow fell
