Peppermint Tea

On the way back home, the sky grew cloudy
The clear blue day turned cold, dark and gray
Ducked into a shop around the corner
To watch the marching of the bumbershoot brigade
The waitress, pretty Alice, looked me over
“Poor thing, shiv'ring, I'll bring… “

CHORUS
Peppermint tea, peppermint tea
No milk or no honey, no sugar you’ll need
Peppermint tea, peppermint tea
Try you a cup of peppermint tea

She turned on teacup heels (to go) and start the kettle
While I looked out though curtains of rain
The clock was stuck at quarter past the hour
The fact’ry whistle blew, then the train
The passengers kept passing by the flowers
They caught, raindrops, she brought

CHORUS

BRIDGE
Cool when it’s hot
and hot when it’s cool (3x)
Clouds dissipated
Night tumbled in
The cat in the kitchen
Disappeared with a grin
Lost in a sweet dream
Was that where I’d been?
You can drink your whiskey or your soda
Juice or cappuccino or cherry cola
Refreshing and relaxing naturally
You could be – (try/with) some

[END CHORUS]
Peppermint tea, peppermint tea
No milk or no honey, no sugar you’ll need
Peppermint tea, peppermint tea
Try you a cup of…
Peppermint tea, peppermint tea
No milk or no honey no sugar you’ll need
Peppermint tea, peppermint tea
Try you a cup of peppermint
Tea (hee-hee-he-hee)
