Since the pandemic I have been doing a weekly live-streaming show – “Freewheelin’ w/J Oscar” (first on Facebook, now on YouTube) – but the question I’m asked, when I see folks out and about is “when is your next IRL/in-person show?”
That would be THIS SUNDAY, May 4 (May the Forth be with you!) It’s a Sunday afternoon (3-5p) show at Wealthy Theatre’s intimate Dirk Koning Cinema (only 61 comfy seats). https://grcmc.vbotickets.com/event/J_Oscar_Bittinger/134218
“A Little Extra” is the title and serves as a theme to tie together stories and original songs.
One of the “little extra” PLUSES is that it’s a multiple performer show (the way “A Winter’s Tune” has been) featuring
Thee Merry Band a “poppin’ folk-rock” ensemble, that consists of David Molinari-keys and leads, Mark Hugger-bass, and Michael Van Houten-drums – in the second set to rev-up, but not blow out, the zippier numbers.
The show ALSO features a revival of The Folk Bros (a band I’m in with Bruce Zeeuw and Steve Aldrich), from the 80’s, that did guerrilla style “flash shows” at bars and outdoor events around town – like playing union songs outside the main post office on Tax day. The Folk Bros close set one.
Doors and Bar open at 2:30pm NOTE: must be GRCMC member to buy beer or wine *Purchase one-year membership for $15 at the door $5 discount on ALL GRCMC events – including Acoustic Stew shows
