Transitions and gradations. Sky shades slightly different colors, sun going down a little sooner, the crickets' tune is pitched a little lower and is played a little slower. Now and then a leaf drifts down. Despite the heat, outdoors is the destination, lakes, forests, rivers, cities, music and friends. Hope you are having fun, we are having us some.
If you've visited before you'll notice a new look and a new WORDS menu above - "Lyrics", and past "Blarney" (the "bloggy" stuff) to be found there. Wouldn't it be cool if you could listen to a version of the song while you read the words? OK then! (...some demos in place, more coming).
Though the BETA launch of Octoberday.com - more or less affectionately known as "the project that ate the Summer..." is still a ways away, it has just gained a "DEMOS" area (where you will be able to buy the versions you hear on the lyrics page) plus a SEASONAL section (which will feature AWT tracks as well as JOB ones). Launch announcement will gleefully be made here ASAP in August... That's 2010 for you doubters....
THANKS to Tele-master Roger Brown, for the fine licks, and to Mary Sue Wilkinson (Sister Wylene lead singer) for adding vocals to the tracks on Wednesday to those already laid down by Troll for Trout drummer Brian Morrill (at Mackinaw Harvest Studio) on "Her Rebel Soul" (lyrics). Results to be posted, um, soon.... (see above...)
Dublin Station (Lauran and J. Oscar - website) play a fine set at Red's on the River as part of the 2nd Annual Heirloom Tomato Festival on Saturday. August 28, 2010 --11:00 am to 12:15.
Cheers! - J. Oscar
